Design teams will compete to see whose trebuchet can throw a tennis ball the farthest out of three throws. In addition, each team will vote on the other teams' trebuchets for quality of engineering to decide the Best Design award. Cash prizes will be awarded, courtesy of SAE:

The following design criteria must be met:

• The design must be original
• Total weight must not exceed 10 pounds
• Total cost must not exceed $50
• Must be powered only by gravity (any elastic components used must not contribute energy to the throw)
• Each trebuchet must be able to hold itself in the ready position without human assistance, and then be released by a trigger. If the counterweight has to be released directly by a human, a judge will release the counterweight.

Everyone is invited to form teams and enter the competition. The cash prizes will only be awarded to teams that have at least one ICC student member. You must show a valid student ID at check-in.
